Microneeding is also called collagen induction therapy. It’s also known as dry needling, collagen needling, and derma rolling. This procedure uses needles to penetrate the epidermis into the dermis, creating a wound response that stimulates growth factors and fibroblast activity, leading to increased collagen and elastin production.
This treatment starts by cleansing the skin thoroughly and using local anesthetic cream to numb it. Then, a special facial device is used to work on the skin to create micro skin injuries, which helps stimulate the increased production of collagen, firm the skin, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This treatment also helps reduce minor acne scars. Usually, a few treatment sessions may be needed.
