Microneeding is also called collagen induction therapy It’s also known as dry needling, collagen needling, and dermarolling. This procedure uses needles to penetrate the epidermis into the dermis, which creates wound response which stimulates growth factors and fibroblast activity, which leads to collagen and elastin increased production.
This treatment starts by cleansing the skin thoroughly, and using local anesthetic cream to numb the skin. Then a special facial device is used to work on the skin to create micro skin injuries which helps stimulate the increased production of collagen, firm the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This treatment also helps reduce minor acne scars. Usually, a few treatment sessions may be needed.
